Choosing the Right Group Type for Email Communication
In M365, managing communication efficiently is important. Distribution Groups and Dynamic Groups help send mails to multiple users… but there is a catch.
Distribution Groups are used to send emails to a fixed set of users. Members are added manually by an admin. Instead of sending emails individually, you can send to the group, and all members will receive it.
Dynamic Distribution Groups dynamically (automatic) include users based on rules i.e. departments, location, etc.)

Choosing between Distribution Groups and Dynamic Distribution Groups depends on your organization’s structure and communication needs.
Both group types play a crucial role in Microsoft 365 communication.
However, modern organizations increasingly prefer Dynamic Distribution Groups for their flexibility and automation capabilities. The key is not choosing one over the other—but using the right one for the right scenario.
